Week 47 - Batismo de Fernando

Hello gente,

Yesterday was the baptism of Fernando!! He is the one guy who came up to us and asked if we could start teaching him because he was praying. We had stake conference all the way in Setubal (where I used to have district meetings), and afterwards a member named Paulo baptized him.  As he was entering the font, he slipped and fell and almost cracked his head open!! But he got up and was all good.  We were thinking how terrible it would've been if he had to go to the hospital and not be baptized.

Today was transfers, but Elder Gimenez and I will be staying together for 6 more weeks at least to finish his training! I am excited I will get to pass Christmas with him, and we will be able to go to the temple in January.

I have been learning a ton about how the mission (and life) really has its ups and downs. You start thinking everything is going super well and then bam an investigator doesn't want to receive you anymore.  But it is how you handle the situations.  I have learned that you can't be negative and just complain.  You got to get to work and make up for it.

The Christmas season is arriving more and more! This week we will get to go to the ward Christmas party and next week we will have our Mission Christmas Conference.

Hope you all have an amazing week! I am so grateful for my Savior. I know that this is His church. I know that His atonement can help us through whatever situation.  I am so grateful for the scriptures and all the things I am learning from them.  Love you all.
