Crazy
that it is already June! So this week was definitely great.
We
have been trying really hard to get into the richer side of our area which is
pretty hard. However, we were walking by
this one apartment complex when a lady was just sitting in her hammock on her
porch behind the closed fence. We walked by and I thought nothing about it. But then the Spirit was like GO BACK. So we talked
with her and she invited us in.
My companion asked if she had any questions for us and she was like… I want to know if I will ever get to see my husband again - he has passed away. And bam we had answers for her! So we began to teach her and then set up another appointment for later in the week. When we came back she had filled out all the questions in the back of the pamphlet…which no one ever does. We taught her about the plan of salvation. She told us she wants to be baptized and that she definitely wants to get to the Celestial Kingdom. So cool. On Sunday she even came to church in a taxi and we didn’t even go to get her or call to remind her! She is soooo solid. It is unreal.
We
had our first English as a Second language class on Saturday and it didn’t go
as well as we hoped. One of our
investigators did come and it was super good for him! It was a good way to get
him into the church building in a non-threatening way.
On
Friday I got a package from my parents which was awesome!! I gave my companion
Elder Roque a Kool-Aid packet because he has never had it. He was flipping out
because he thought it was so good.
If
you have a Book of Mormon near you, look up Moroni 7:40-48, so good. Talks a
lot about attributes of Christ and Charity. Love it.
